Beautiful sets and costumes, and good acting...watching that there was no way I'd have thought Gong Li was older than 30 but she's 43! holy crap. Complicated plot and a lot of backstabbing/plans not working out the way they were supposesd to.
if only the empress could have waited a little longer!
