Review of Curse of Chucky (2013) by Shayne J — 24 Sep 2013
The triumphant return of the world's favorite killer doll is here and much more grisly and gruesome than every single one of it's predecessors. The dark atmosphere and sense of dread that hovers over the whole film is a frightening one, and is a welcome return back into the Child's Play franchise with an extra touch of brutally satisfying gore.
Fiona Dourif provides a surprisingly strong lead role, and Brad is great as always. The film ties together with the other films in ways you wouldn't believe, making the last 20 minutes of 'Curse' one of the most satisfying pieces of fan service I've seen in a long time.
Don Mancini has completely revamped the franchise, and I can't wait to see if they decide to do more. Judging by previous Child's Play films, this ending can definitely be picked up on in another film.
