Review of Curse of Chucky (2013) by Adam D — 24 Oct 2013
This isn't a comedy. Just so you know.
Thankfully, Chucky is a creepy doll again, and has pretty much ditched his outspoken sense of humour and replaced it with pure malevolence.
The story seems so clichéd now, but there are some great performances from the cast that kept my interest.
There is a certain amount of dread and foreboding in the movie, as well as quite shocking moments of gore and brutality.
Chucky's faces - both animatronic and CG - blend together well and serve to create some seriously disturbing expressions.
It's predictable, but it asserts itself well.
I'm up for a sequel.
