The heavy reliance on jump scares, fake outs, and gratuitous gore that cheapens the genre are at full force here. The new backstory given barely fits into continuity and makes Chucky a different kind of killer.

For a movie written by the guy who's written the entire franchise I didn't expect to find so many plot holes in its own mythology. Nice wig Mr. Dourif.
