Review of Curly Sue (1991) by Codie E — 31 Mar 2011
Poor John Hughes. It's sad to know that this was the last film the beloved man directed. While it has many of his trademarks, warmth, comedy, children, family dynamics, it kind of fails on all levels.
The warmth feels a little forced, the comedy never really works often far too broad for the setting and the themes have been done a lot better in his previious works. So next time you consider watching this, put it back and pull out another of Hughes' classics.
