Review of Cube 2: Hypercube (2002) by Scott D — 29 Mar 2009

Now that I've seen 'Cube 2', I realize that 'Saw' is nothing more than a gorified ripoff. There are puzzles, sometimes solutions, many questions, and constant anxiety during 'Cube 2' which reveals its secrets slowly and cunningly.

I have not seen the first 'Cube' so whether this sequel is a mere rehash, I cannot say - on it's own terms, I was engrossed in the plight of the participants. Some hammy acting from a couple of the male actors, but Kari Matchett is a name I will remember - her face is easy to as she closely resembles Cate Blanchett.

The ending is somewhat disappointing and provides no closure, but perhaps I have to see the first and next entires to really understand what happenend. Recommended for fans of 'Memento.'.
