Review of Cube 2: Hypercube (2002) by Brett W — 22 Jun 2010
Hypercube is a decently executed (but not unpredictable) "why are we here" thriller up until the third act where the screenwriter seems to have run out of interesting concepts to explore and inserts pointless twists and allusions to an "overall" plotline that has no bearing on this film whatsoever.
Or if it did, I didn't care. The philosophical questions are what's interesting, not some ambiguous secret project. I want to know what the implications of this distorted reality maze are. Is it bigger than the government that tries to control it? Well, according to this film.
..no.
