Review of Cube (1998) by Michael J — 08 Jun 2009

I had seen Cube Zero before watching this one... which gives some background and reference points. However, when this movie was originally made there was supposed to be an air of mystery behind the Cube.

Even though that aspect was absent, I think the movie still plays very well. The traps are better in Cube Zero (obviously they upped the ante), but the effects and deaths are very good. It is also great to see how the cast develops and compliments one another.

Definitely more on the side of Sci-fi than horror... so if you are expecting a straight forward horror experience you should look elsewhere. Still, very entertaining and worth the watch if you have the time!
