Review of Cry_Wolf (2005) by Daniel T — 12 Jan 2010
I had originally set this movie to not interested, mainly because it looked like every other teen slasher flick going. A friend of mine brought the DVD over, and I thought why not? Even if I don't like it, it's another movie to review.
I was actually quite surprised how good it was in places, and although at one point I thought it's a direct rip-off of Scream (they sit around and talk about how the killer couldn't be female.. Randy and Tatum by the fountain?) I stayed with it and enjoyed it.
Unlike other movies in the genre, this isn't actually a 'slasher' as such and you'll see what I mean if you watch it. It is more about the suspense. There was some pretty good dialogue too, and a great twist.. Although I kind of saw it coming, about 70% of it anyway.
It's an entertaining movie, but not a great movie. It also stars Jon Bon Jovi which doesn't help (sorry Bon Jovi fans).
