Review of Cry_Wolf (2005) by Peter E — 21 Aug 2010
What I liked: The film was a nice spin of the typical horror, showing a girl with a vendetta, more mature than any of her friends and manipulating them into doing her bidding (which is revenge on the teacher who cheated on her) Her main pawn being an intelligent English immigrant whom features as the films star. The plot was good, and in particular, I liked it when they 'designed' the killer.
What I didn't like: The film isnt 'gory' on any level, and can get a bit confusing with each character having their own vendetta. This cross plotline can be a bit hard to grasp. Other than this, the killer at the end doent carry that musch 'oomf' as I would have ideally wanted.
Conclusion: A so-so entry into the genre but lacking a few things that make the modern slasher what it is. I can definatrley see potential for a sequel to this, tough it would have to feature a diffrent cast and none of the same characters, just a similar situation.
