Review of Cry Freedom (1987) by Adam W — 14 Oct 2007
The portrayal of the aparthied and racism that they white man showed to the blacks seems very real, but the story, of a man's ideas to make South Africa a country for all, is the definition of man's hope to be equals.
Denzel played Steve Biko with such passion that it seemed Biko was back to spread his word again. Kevin Kline was brilliant with Donald Woods, only weeks after shooting A Fish Called Wanda. A brilliant film and one that needs to be seen to understand how fragile the human mind is and how something so trivial as words can scare, divide and destroy a country.
