Review of Cry Freedom (1981) by Catriona T — 01 Jan 2008
Excellent true story about the friendship between a black activist and a white newspaper editor. The only flaw that I could see is that the character Biko dies half way through, making the second half of the film less powerful, as it focuses on the situation of a privileged white family and their attempts to escape the country.
I feel that Steve Biko deserved a whole film to himself.
