Review of Crumb (1995) by Connor A — 02 Aug 2014
This is the kind of documentary in which the subject matter provides the core driving force of the film. An absolutely fascinating insight into Robert Crumb, a very underrated and misunderstood artist and human being.
But the real case of interest in this film is Robert's brother Charles, who is mentally disturbed, considered repulsive and committed suicide a year after the film was released. Watching and listening to this poor creature feels surreal; you never think people like this exist.
