Review of Cruising (1980) by Heather H — 22 Oct 2008
One of cinemas little anomalies, that has been conveniently forgotten about by all concerned with Pacino refusing ever to discuss the movie.
I can see their point of view but then why make it in the first place and although horribly dated it's not as bad as first thought. The main problem is who the hell is this aimed at, as both the homosexual and heterosexual community are going to be turned off. Only fans of Friedkin and Pacino (both mavericks in their field) are going to be interested but while some of the scenes contain a certain tension, you get the overwhelming feeling that this is a huge waste of talent.
