Review of Cruel Intentions (1999) by Andrew C — 01 Jan 2011
'Smart' and 'delicious' are the words that best describe this update of "Dangerous Liaisons" made with twentysomethings posing as teenagers. The older actors more than hold their own here but the centerpiece is composed of a bunch of up-and-coming magazine covers (Witherspoon, Phillippe, Gellar, Blair, Reid).
Past the eye-candy of the pop-tarts and the lavish sets, the story is what makes this film a re-watchable classic shining through with love, lying and just desserts. 10/4/9.
