Review of Cruel Intentions (1999) by Karan K — 29 Jan 2011
Suitably snippy and sexy, with nothing special about it otherwise. The crudity, foulness, and pseudo-danger inherent to the plot occasionally become too thick, but I think they're fine for a gutless, late-'90s, teen-dream movie like this.
With just a few tweaks (restoring its original, more sophisticated musical score; using smoother, more stylized, non-MTV editing), it could have been even better, and so much more on top of that.
