Review of Cruel Intentions (1999) by Georgia C — 07 Jan 2013
One of my all-time favourite films... cynical, witty, charming...and it makes you fall in love with characters that are pretty darn hateable. Handled brilliantly with excellent performances all round. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair are probably the standouts here.
Gellar brings a top notch performance, perfectly cold, uncaring but ultimately a character you can't help but feel bad for. I somehow think that this style of acting is often misinterpreted as bad, but I loved it.
A must-watch guilty pleasure film.
