Review of Cruel, Cruel Love (1914) by John A — 10 Oct 2009
Middling Chaplin. The most interesting thing about this is the narrative that actually makes sense up to the big ending set piece. Each piece fits together, the film is impressively and briskly edited, and Chaplin has a funny moment after he poisons himself.
That said, it eventually devolves into a gigantic fight that seems to have little purpose but to portray people fighting and falling. Silly.
