I don't know why this database says that this movie was from 2000, when it was from 1998, but that doesn't really matter.
What DOES matter is how great this movie is. this movies main character (jack) manages (though narration) to make an alto ego of himself that is so convincing, the character is thought to almost be schizophrenic.
