Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Keith G — 08 Apr 2010

A weird mix of martial arts and stylized dance. There a decent story hidden among all of the odd art direction and strange superhero-like fight choreography. There is some nice cinematography and good looking set pieces which do present a nice atmosphere.

The film also has a couple of entertaining martial arts fight sequences. But these pluses can't save the movie. It's artsy feel and stylized look will turn off alot of people. Also the film won't hold up to repeat viewings for those who did enjoy it the first time.

Decent, but nothing special.
