Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by George B — 03 May 2010
HK film industry totally killed the martial art genre in the 90's, then it was brought back alive by Lee at the end of the decade when no one wanted to touch it. It was an idea that Lee had even before he made his debut, and the insistence turned out to be worth every second and penny.
Not only Lee showed how fascinating the world once was to the audience but also the depth of the genre can be dug. It created two biggest martial art heroes of all time and also an instant star, Zhang Ziyi.
