Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Elliott F — 12 Aug 2010

Ang Lee's ravishing, spiritually moving film stands as one of the best of 2000, and one of the best of the decade. While this is clearly a director's film--and Lee directs it beautifully--the actors do a remarkable job, most notably Chow Yun-Fat, Michelle Yeoh, and Zhang Ziyi.

A profound plot carries the leisurely paced and utterly rapturous film along, and, like visual poetry, it expands in front of our eyes to create something truly special.
