Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Raj G — 02 Feb 2012
The most engaging ( proverbial!! ) title of a film, I've ever seen, even this title makes you think. Classical movie with classical Chinese culture. You don't know what to call this movie, action, drama or romance.
All 3 are predominant. That Jade Fox added a nice touch with feminism! An engaging story, excellent screenplay and supra-stellar acting. I haven't seen other wuxia films, but those 'defying gravity' scenes were not out of place here, instead seeing the courage and determination of all characters, they felt completely normal.
A Chinese film that truly belongs to its homeland.
