Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Daniel F — 18 Jan 2013
Wow what and Awesome movie! very intense and beautiful. The plot is sharp, involving and very emotional but I wouldn't necessarily say its an adventure for its too mature and the ideas conveyed are more about whats with in its more of a personal story.
The action is top notch and inventive. It doesn't rely on dumb cgi, its authentic. some would say that in a way this film is very sad throughout but I would only partially agree some very traumatizing and dramatic things do occur but I wouldn't overtly say this movie has a depressing tone. I wont spoil anything about the storyline but tension is built very well. this is only strengthened later on.
I love this movie I classify it as much better than films such as hero or house of flying daggers, even though those are good films as well.
If you enjoy poetic beauty with a mixture of intensity see this!
