Review of Crossroads (2002) by Victoria D — 08 Feb 2010
This movie was a feel-good movie. Britney's acting was okay, and the performances from Taryn and Zoey were great. The ending wasn't too cliche- they ended up losing everything they wanted. Teens watching this can most likely relate to one of the characters' stories. To top it off, the song Britney sings at the end, I'm Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman, is very powerful and will reach many young women.
With this said, the plot was very unoriginal. The characters were very uncreative. There were no special quirks or distinguishable features about them. It only appeals to one kind of consumer. It had a tacky flavor running throughout the entire film. It makes a feeble attempt at making audiences cry when Mimi's baby dies, but fails.
Overall, it is very tacky and unoriginal, but will appeal to younger crowds.
