Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Igor K — 15 Nov 2009
At last a movie which deals with the real problems of the USA, and not some alien catastrophy disaster movies, which are daily put in the theatres.Crossing over deal with other kind of "aliens" which are very real becoming the major problem for the US government.
This multi layered movie with intersecting parts similar to the famous Crash, delivers first a very well played parts by several actors (including Harrison Ford and others). The story is running well, and I must say that the background music is doing a great job in following the emotions of the characters.
The story also raises question not just into illegal immigration, but also about the blending in of vast mix of cultures, heritages and ethnic groups which can lead to some hybrid forms (Korean's acting and talking like Afro American gang members).
It also touches very subtle the problem of keeping this new Babylon together, with and alarming increase of paranoia in the Homeland security offices. This kind of systems never fail from explosion but implosion.
