Cropsey is a chilling and scary documentary about several missing children cases from Staten Island in the 1980's. This is a mystery on a variety of levels and its very hard not to get caught up in its questions, the evidence and heart wrenching "known" details. But with each clue, comes more questions?

Cropsey is a documentary that in some respects plays like the latest episode of 48 Hours Mysteries, but goes much further. It explores the nature of Urban Legends and the crimes that occur that seem to mirror these legends.

Is the perpetrator the Urban Legend coming alive? Is it even the right individual? Are the crimes that the man is charged with valid or is it the need for the people of this Staten Island community to find some closure to these heinous crimes?

If you're looking for answers to these questions and more - you wont find them. What you do get is an outstanding examination of some unsolved missing persons cases, circumstantial evidence and lots of questions.

This is one of the most horrifying documentaries i've ever seen and yet, I couldnt turn it off. I was mesmerized. I had my own questions? This is some great film-making!

It's very difficult for me to write much more, as I don't want to give away some of the other details that come to light. But if you're interested in a snap shot of America's past in regard to mental institutions, unsolved missing persons cases, and the criminal justice system in America - track this movie down! I never heard of it- and was drawn by the description. It is available on Netflix and via the Netflix Instant Viewing service.

At the end of it all, I still have questions. I want to know more. I do hope a picture like this will implore other people to seek answers to their questions and hopefully urge other individuals who may know information to come forward. I loved this film!
