Review of Cropsey (2010) by Joey B — 21 Jun 2011
This is a spooky movie - the scariest thing in this film is the place Willowbrook - to know a place like that existed(which I am sure they still exist today)is some scary ass stuff - the film involves two people who grew up on Staten Island NY.
and found out about a neighborhood child killer who was nicknamed Cropsey(real name is Andre Rand) - the film has a bit of the shakey cam/handheld thing going on in certain parts that make it feel a bit cheesy but DOES NOT take away from any of the spookiness within this film, what this film boils down to is the did Andre Rand commit all the crimes he is said to have done or is he just a pawn in a bigger cover up of many people?? This film has some fantastic footage of Willowbrook and interviews with people involved years ago with the searches for all the missing children, it will stay in your mind a while after you see it - also watch 'Unforgotten: Twenty-Five Years After Willowbrook' on Hulu or buy the dvd from AMAZON - it is a great companion piece to this film.
