Great movie. I think del toro is embarking on a tryptych with this film - not unlike what gillam did with his trilogy - each film adressing a different stage of life. I think pan's labyrinth is more stiking - or obvious reasons, but I enjoy the subtlety of this movie.
it's not something I would expect him to do well - but he does.
