Review of Cronos (1993) by Stephen M — 25 Jan 2008

I was a bit disappointed with this. It does add a few new ideas to the vampire sub-genre but it's very slow and not particularly engaging. If you've seen "Mimic" or "Pan's Labyrinth", you won't be surprised to find that "Cronos" contains some insects and a gloomy child who doesn't say very much.

I'm beginning to think that del Toro is only as good a director as his cinematographer and visual effects artists allow.
