Review of Cronos (1993) by Peter G — 11 Dec 2008
Early Guillermo Del Toro effort. Lots of basic designs and concepts will be expanded tenfold in future releases once he gets huge budgets, as Cronos operates with mostly cheap effects. It lacks a certain charm though, and I think it would have been a lot better filmed as a B-movie, as there are lots of campy elements here.
The prosthetics are golden, though, and it hints in future excellence, so this movie is the best kind of Good.
