Review of Cronos (1993) by Edgar C — 05 Aug 2011
Cronos is a haunting horror/fantasy debut with all the popular elements already present: the stupid, indifferent child with an emotionless physiognomy, bugs (real and built), the zombie/vampire makeup, Ron Perlman (hilariously trying to speak Spanish) and smart photography. How simple the film may be is compensated with the director's invigorating style to tell any story, and how much psychological weight the characters always carry. Visionary, and very intelligent, worth of even more cult value than the one it has by now.
85/100.
