Review of Cronos (1993) by Dustin G — 12 Oct 2011
Visually striking vamp movie from del Toro before he became THE del Toro, this features themes and visual bit and pieces that would pop up again in his other films, right up to Pan's.
It's not a perfect movie, or the best the vampire genre has to offer, but it has more depth and originality in some ways than most other flicks of its kind. It's not scary, I wouldn't even call it a horror movie, but it is a dark tale well told by a man who knows a little something about telling tales.
