Good first big time movie for Del Toro despite his lack of budget and young age. However, Cronos is an incorrect spelling according to the significance of time in this movie. The god and word for time is Chronos.
There is already a movie called Chronos, released in 1985, but why didn't he just call it The Chronos Device? It would have been more accurate. Bah, I wonder!
