Review of Cronos (1993) by Chris W — 16 Nov 2012
Guillermo del Toro's feature debut is a great, imaginative take on vampire mythology that really just has alot of fun throughout. It's not particularly scary, but it is often times dark, humorous, and creepy.
My only complaint is I would've loved to see more of the actual creation of the Cronos device, perhaps give an extra half-hour or so dedicated to the alchemist fleeing to Mexico with the vampiric clockwork scarab.
Other than that, an entertaining look at where del Toro started.
