Review of Crocodile Dundee (1986) by Nicholas H — 01 Aug 2013
The story is about a crocodile hunter named Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee played by Paul Hogan who along with a journalist played by Linda Kozlowski brings him in from Australia to New York City.
Michael soon finds that he is adaptable to the city using this own natural ways and a romance develops between Michael and the journalist Sue who is enchanted by his down-to-earth behaviour. The story is pretty solid and laughs all come from the fish-out-of-water stuff kind of like the Rush Hour movies where one has to save the other because they don't know how to stand up to it.
Like that, Michael doesn't know how to stand up to urban life before he adapts to it which makes him the fish-out-of-water. This Australian comedy, while adventurous and has its laughs is really nothing special.
I know there's a Crocodile Dundee II and Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles but I cannot watch them both unless I get the chance to so this was my only review out of the trilogy I hope. It was already bad enough that I can't find the movie Curse Of The Fly, the threequel to the original The Fly movie and now I'm going to spend months searching the sequels for this movie? Crocodile Dundee gets a 6/10.
