I have lived in the outback, and I have met many similar characters.
For oversees readers: NOT all Australia and it's inhabitants are like that!
The trick with the hand and the buffalo is NOT true!
However, the Australian bush, the 'Barra hunting' etc is all real.I dont know if the Americans in NY behave like this though....
Paul Hogan's best and most natural movie. The love story interwoven made it watchable by both sexes. The humour is Australian (bush) humour and for us very funny.

In short worth watching over nad over again!
