Review of Criss Cross (1949) by Alex B — 13 Apr 2009
It's about a man who thinks he holds his cards close to his chest when everyone around him knows (him) more/better than he knows (himself). Then when he sees how they control/determine his life, he reacts dangerously/disastrously.
In the end, helpless/immobilized, he sees that it's every man (or woman) for him/herself. And we see that every man for himself means we all lose.
