Review of Crimson Tide (1995) by Jack W — 03 Jan 2010
Denzel is good as always but man is Gene Hackman a great actor. He plays the pissed off old man to perfection. The over stylization inherent to Tony Scott plays out in the narrative as it just pushes the conflict too much between Denzel and Hackman.
Still, the problems and questions raised here make interesting fodder. Not as good as Red October but still good to watch.
