Review of Crimson Tide (1995) by Bryan W — 15 Aug 2010
It's difficult to imagine making a more tense thriller in a submarine. The two leads stage an epic power struggle, each evincing a reasonable perspective from two viewpoints while everyone else around them does their best to follow the orders of their superiors.
Though the rumor is that the film went through multiple writers (including obvious touches from Quentin Tarantino) it rarely shows the strain of too many cooks, probably thanks to the intense performances by Washington and Hackman.
