I really enjoy watching Guilermo Del Toro work. The story on this was a tad weak and didn't really build the romance up well. Note, that if you're gonna watch this film,don't expect scares.
...expect beautiful visuals, cause its Del Toro and that's his specialty...and expect great set design and costumes. Expect tastefully done, atmospheric camera-driven horror. I'd say in his reportoire he's done movies with a more engrossing story than this one.
...kinda felt like this one was cut down and compressed in some places. But otherwise, it was a beautiful watch.
