Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Alex S — 26 Dec 2016
Better than I expected, a visually beautiful, well put together romantic gothic horror with enough blood to make it almost like a Hammer film.
A young woman, who was haunted by ghosts as a child, meets a stranger that is attracted to her after reading her written story about ghosts, his sister however doesn't like her at all. After the woman's father gets murdered, she moves in with the stranger at his mansion, where she finds out that there is something not right about him and his sister.
I don't understand the hate this film has got, it's certainly a better horror film than most of the shit nowadays that consists of either "found footage" or being full of jump scares.
