Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Hazzagalla — 24 Mar 2017
There are a lot of things to admire in Crimson Peak. The make-up and hairstyling, the costumes, the camerawork, the atmosphere and the sets. All of these things are fantastic and really gives life to this world that is created in the film.
Unfortunately, the story isn't as strong. Some elements feel as though they could have been more fleshed out and towards the end revelations happen that aren't particular interesting, as a result the movie becomes predictable.
There are a couple of editing errors where characters are saying dialogue from a previous or future scene, but the current scene has them preforming a different action. The movie isn't particularly scary as well which is a shame.
It could have been so much more with a stronger story and longer running time, which is disappointing.
