This movie was great. I usually struggle with gothic genre movies. I find they become too wrapped up in themselves, and leave me out of the equation. This movie was different. It has everything I like about the gothic genre (amazing old house, victorian-era, etc), and nothing that I don't like (confusing plot, confusing language, strange characters). I found I could relate to the story and the characters, and for this to happen in a gothic movie is amazing.
Not to mention it has great special effects and the way they shot it was very good too.
