Review of Criminal (2016) by Ian W — 22 Aug 2016
I should've probably watched the trailer for this movie first before actually watching the movie.. Since I had no prior notions when I started the movie, I was expecting it to be an alternative to Self/less of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I did find it weird that Ryan Reynolds would do two movies that were so similar to each other though, but I digress. When you hear the name Kevin Costner, you may be like me and automatically think of Field of Dreams and For the Love of the Game, both movies which are on my favorite movies of all time list.
. But this is a completely different character for him. Someone that's just downright bad. Not evil, just bad hence the title Criminal. I loved how he became more and more like the man that he was supposed to be like (Ryan Reynolds) and that he would rather have the CIA after him than risk the safety of Ryan's family in the end.
There wasn't enough good guy moments for me seeing as how much I love Kevin Costner and don't want him playing a part where he's not the good guy throughout its entirety.
