Review of Criminal (1994) by Cathe J — 14 Sep 2004
Hmm, Jury is still out on this one. .

Okay, aside from the weak pun, this Clooney produced film about some grifters in Los Angeles, namely Diego Luna and John C. Reilly, as Brian and Richard, is a predictable walk through the life of crime. .

The movie ran a couple of hours, and should have been a one hour Law and Order episode. Some of the banter was witty, but not enough to hold my attention. The direction was weird...filled with close-ups for no particular reason. In fact, had this been directed well, it could have been a good. Luna was underplaying his role, but was a bit swarmy. O'Reilly was over acting his role and he could have made it comical instead of uncomfortable. .
Not going on my dvd list, although it may be on dvd in a couple of weeks. .
