Review of Crimes of the Future (2022) by Valosagutas — 07 Nov 2022

Basically this movie is just another movie developed with the idea of David Cronenberg style "humans evolved into something else" movie.

So in this movie people evolved in a way they cannot feel pain because they have no need for pain anymore. They don't even get sick so they have no reason to wash their hands and all. Even though you cut them into pieces they don't bleed to death but still they can be killed when you pierce their brain.

Evolution took so different way some people grow new unknown organs and there is a guy who wears like sub-zero and squat like a Russian who suffers from "accelerated evolution... stuff" so he grows new unknown organs in a few days.

This movie tells a simple story of some ex-soldier and ex-doctor performing "art" by cutting each other which is a popular thing so other people do such BS.

It been a while since I watched a David Cronenberg movie but I can tell the acting and cinematography is very improved. Still he suck at coming up with a decent story. Not idea, the story, dude.

No David, you cannot do how characters in New Brave World let people know what kind of lore the universe has by randomly talking about stuff about the universe. "Before we have sex, did you know we grow humans in labs like primitive people grew plants back then." LOL. That's very noob way to tell the story. Improve on that. Even Scanners that released in 1981 had better story telling. Also there is a kid who eats plastic bucket in toilet because he is that evolved pokemon just like the girl from Dr. Slump wow LOL. And substory of this movie is sub-zero being a secret agent in a cult just because he has so nothing to do he decide to help a detective and thus he learn people made themselves have a special surgery just to eat plastic.

Bruh David are you kidding me? WTF is this story? I guess the money was so good people was part of this BS movie. Bruh I wouldn't even write this movie to my CV it's that BS.

On top of it we see people naked unnecessarily. Just why? Did you really wanted to see them naked that much? And why people kissing for no reason?

I liked the idea that "pain is new sex" in a way whole world trying to feel pain like a damn masochist so instead of **** the whore people cutting the whore while even the whore enjoying it but this is actually not so rare in our current age. People just hiding it. It's just not so obvious. What David did is just letting ignorant people know it so I gave 1 point for the idea.

Another 1 point I gave was just because I really liked the camera angles and all because that's how I take photographs in a way it's my signature way of photo art.

Other than these it's not a movie to watch so you can enjoy (if you are not sick in the head) or learn. What's the message here? What you tried to convey other than making us feel cringy and look at some BS?

If you are into avant-garde in most BS sense when you are okay with empty movie this is your movie. All you have is the visuals. Otherwise nothing interesting happens in this movie. It's basically light gore, grotesque, BS plastic eaters theme movie and rarely pornography. If the gore scenes were interesting I would be okay with that but even that is plain boring non-creative BS. And why the serial murders happened I have no idea LOL. That's it. The whole movie is like another 50 Shades of Grey style meme-worthy BDSM BS.
