Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Boogie H — 29 Jun 2007
OoOoh! It's a dramedy! In all seriousness, it is a wonderful blend of both. By far the funniest moment, is when Woody Allen's sister tells him that some guy she met through a personals ad took a big stinkin poo on her during their sexy time.
Classic. As for the story itself, Allen developes it fantastically. I would have preferred the movie to end with Woody Allen sitting on the piano bench (I think that's what it was) alone after Martin Landau walks away.
I felt the recap/summarization was unnessary, because the story really spoke for itself. Although it doesn't provide you with any answers, it asks the questions and demands the viewer to think, which the average person needs to do a hell of a lot more of.
