Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Ian H — 13 Jul 2007
This is my personal pick for best Woody Allen film. It manages to cross Allen's penchant for comedy with something he does infrequently but perfectly: nail-biting drama. Allen's ability to keep the viewer on edge has been demonstrated well in films like Interiors and most recently Match Point, but Crimes and Misdemeanors does it best.
