Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Louis F — 03 Feb 2008
Easily one of Woody Allen's best films. Both dramatic and hilarious. As always Allen manages to show his extreme and utter contempt for most people and himself, in a brilliant, savage, beautiful way.
The man understands cinema. The film is made up of almost entirely two person scenes, yet Allen manages to film each scene beautifully and with a genius' eye.
